The flexibility of AliDeck aluminium decking is proved again by overcoming the challenge of a skylight in a balcony floor
The AliDeck System of aluminium decking was designed to work as an inter-compatible, modular and configurable family of decking products. This inter-compatibility provides a huge amount of flexibility for architects and contractors when specifying AliDeck decking in their projects, with all elements of the AliDeck System able to work together in a “mix ‘n’ match” style to achieve the required results.
We were delighted to see our decking boards and joists put to good use in a refurbishment project in Lewisham recently. The property had several balcony areas of 15.4m2, so a real nice size to make an outdoors living feature of with our aluminium metal decking. There was one challenge, though; a raised skylight frame in the balcony floors.
With the flexibility provided by the AliDeck System’s inter-compatible nature, this challenge was quickly overcome with the specification of our 30mm Senior Board, our 50mm Lite Joist and our Adjustable Pedestal Brackets to achieve the precise build-up height required. The end result is a seamless and beautiful non-combustible deck, with no trip hazards presented by the skylight frame.
The installation was performed by AliDeck-approved installers Alu-Installations Ltd. George and his team did a great job once again, making sure that our AliDeck boards were correctly fitted to ensure decades of balcony enjoyment for the future tenants of this property.
