AliDeck celebrate new relationship with steel balcony fabricator Able Steelwork & Metalwork Ltd

AliDeck has been working closely with steel fabricators around the UK ever since we launched our first A-Rated non-combustible Interlocking Balcony Decking Board several years ago. We’ve always considered it to be absolutely essential to build strong relationships with the companies manufacturing balcony framework so that we always understand exactly what their requirements are as we continually develop our range. It’s a philosophy that has served us well and has helped us develop the most complete aluminium metal decking system available in the UK.

So, we’re absolutely delighted to now be working alongside yet another balcony steelwork manufacturer, Able Steelwork & Metalwork Ltd, based in Thatcham. Established in 2011, Able have developed an enviable reputation for excellent design and quality fabrications of architectural metalwork products. Serving prestigious developers, Able have decades of experience in delivering first-class steelwork to developments of all scales around the country.

Most recently, Able secured the balcony package on the high-end Hartland Village development in Hampshire with the St Edward division of Berkeley Group. Able were keen to ensure that their fabrications were presented to the highest possible standards of workmanship and safety, with all materials fully-compliant with all relevant legislation. AliDeck was quickly identified as the best choice for the balcony decking, with our A-Rated non-combustible metal decking system delivering not only peace-of-mind on the safety aspects but also providing the complementary aesthetics essential to Able’s vision for their balcony design.

The AliDeck team designed a decking solution based around our 30mm Senior Balcony Board, utilising its excellent spanning capabilities to allow Able to minimise the amount of steel framework required in each balcony for a cost-effective and sustainable overall balcony design. Additionally, taking advantage of the configurable nature of the AliDeck System, a positively-drained arrangement was incorporated using our unique Balcony Drainage System. With waste-water captured between each board by our original gutter channel and fed to the ends of the balcony to be collected in our new drainage gutter, the AliDeck Balcony Drainage System is a safe and smart water management solution and was eagerly adopted by Able for these balconies.
