AliDeck publish explainer video of Balcony Fires Report 2020-2021 showing prevalence and causes of fires on balconies in Great Britain

With the publication of the Balcony Fires Report 2020 – 2021, AliDeck has once again led the way on highlighting an often-overlooked aspect of the Building Safety Crisis; the risks posed by combustible materials on balconies.

With in-depth research conducted covering the whole of Great Britain, we revealed the shocking extent of fires on balconies over the last year, with 213 in total recorded across the UK. Most shockingly, almost half were caused by smoking materials such as carelessly discarded cigarettes.

The AliDeck Balcony Fires Report 2020 – 2021 is an important intervention into the national conversation and underlines the importance of removing combustible materials from balconies and replacing with non-combustible alternatives such as aluminium decking as soon as possible.
