Aluminium decking manufacturer AliDeck embrace high-end 3D visualisation with launch of 3D CGI service for architects
Successfully conveying visual impact in architectural design is a key element in consolidating proposals and seeing plans progress to fruition. With 3D visualisation a well-established tool in architecture, computer-generated imagery is an understood and accepted visual language that is capable of achieving profound impact.
Beyond the architect’s studio, though, digital imagery is less deeply embedded in workflow practices, particularly so in the materials supply chain. Aluminium decking manufacturer AliDeck, however, has decided to lead industry towards a more sophisticated way of communicating by embracing the possibilities afforded by high-end 3D CGI visualisation.
Richard Izzard, AliDeck Managing Director, said “We have always used 3D visualisation when bringing new products to the market, so we understand the impact that detailed, high-resolution computer-generated artwork can have in aiding our customers.”
“Recently, though, we realised that our product range had expanded to include many complex systems of decking, cladding, and balustrades and that we needed a better way of demonstrating their many features.”
After working briefly with freelance artists, AliDeck recognised that to truly capitalise on the opportunities that tailored digital artwork can bring, an in-house resource was required.
“We were delighted to create the post of 3D/CGI Artist & Animator at our Rochester HQ and were able to quickly recruit a very talented recent graduate,” continued Richard. “Our visual output transformed overnight as we began to create a suite of new, high-resolution imagery for our ongoing marketing.”
AliDeck’s innovation, however, has been the application of this new in-house visualisation resource to creating striking, contextualised representations of their range of products.
“We have worked closely with architects and specifiers for many years,” explained Richard. “That experience has helped us to understand how we, as a manufacturer, can bring value to their proposals by providing them with comprehensive technical and design support.”
“Providing specifiers with visualisations of our products in-situ at their proposed projects has been warmly received and has vindicated the choice we made to add this service to our offering.”
As we move into a Post-Covid world of remote-working and video conferencing, AliDeck’s decision seems particularly timely. Architects and specifiers will increasingly rely on concise and detailed visual aids to articulate their vision, and manufacturers who are able to collaborate at this level will surely be recognised as vital partners.
“Our company was built on innovation,” concluded Richard. “We have led the industry in developing fully compliant balcony component systems and delivering second-to-none service to our customers. Revolutionising the way that manufacturers communicate visually is simply a continuation of our dedication to excellence.”
