Working alongside Alexander James, a valued contractor who has selected AliDeck systems for several recent projects, we provided a purpose-built solution for the scheme’s multi-balcony design using our System 7– Lite Board, Eco 30 joist, and Adjustable Pedestals — all in a sleek Jet Black finish.

Engineered Decking System Designed for Precise Build-Up and Spanning Requirements

The balconies at Barnfield required a decking solution tailored to exact structural and build-up specifications. AliDeck delivered a complete engineered system comprising our System 7- Adjustable Pedestals, Joist Carrier, Eco 30 aluminium joist, and Lite Decking Board, working seamlessly together to deliver strength, safety, and style.

At the base, AliDeck Adjustable Pedestals allowed precise height adjustment, ensuring perfect levelling and stability across all balcony types. These pedestals supported the AliDeck Joist Carrier, which held the Eco 30 aluminium joists in place.

Functioning as the structural component of the deck build-up, the Eco 30 joist was specifically selected for its slim profile and excellent spanning capabilities, ideal for meeting the limited build-up height of the Barnfield balconies. Fixed directly onto these joists is our Lite Board decking, combining sleek aesthetics with industry-leading performance.

This integrated system not only achieved a clean, uniform finish across all balconies but also delivered a fully non-combustible solution with a fire rating of A2-s1, d0 and A2fl-s1, ensuring full compliance with BS 8579:2020 and the latest Building Safety Regulations from the outset.

High-Performance Aluminium Decking in a Contemporary Jet Black Finish

The Lite Board was chosen as the primary decking surface for its lightweight design, ease of installation, and architectural appeal. Powder-coated in Jet Black, the finish added a sophisticated contrast to the façade, complementing the building’s overall style while contributing to the development’s kerb appeal.

AliDeck’s in-house powder coating facility ensures every board is treated to Qualicoat Seaside Standard, using a Class 2 Powder Coating for superior durability and colour retention. With a seven-stage pre-treatment process, including etching to 2 grams per square metre, we ensure high resistance to corrosion, UV damage, and external wear – ideal for exposed balcony conditions.

With a 60-year design life and full recyclability, the decking system delivered both sustainability and long-term value for the client and end-users.
