Alloy Fabweld to use the AliDeck Ultra Board on the exciting new-build project at Manor Road Quarter, London

Alloy Fabweld have secured the opportunity to work on the exciting Manor Road Quarter project in Canning Town, London. AliDeck will be responsible for supplying UK Leaders in architectural metalwork, Alloy Fabweld, with non-combustible balcony solutions to create a fire-safe and futureproof environment in line with the latest regulations.

The project was secured following an in-depth meeting with the owner of Alloy Fabweld & their design team, and with a lightweight flat pack solution found. Alloy will use a lightweight balcony called the Triple S. A standard balcony is 5.25m2 which would normally weigh around 1.6t. The Triple S only weighs a remarkable 850kg based on this balcony size, with deflection criteria not exceeding +/- 4mm.

Neil Windas, AliDeck’s Technical Sales Manager, then supported the team at Alloy Fabweld as they presented our joint proposal to Morgan Sindall. AliDeck will supply our Ultra Balcony Board that will allow the team at Alloy to fabricate the balconies off site or at ground level and crane the fully decked balconies into position with just the cover strips required once the system is secured into the buildings subframe.

The Ultra Board will be supported by our Junior Access Gutter that will allow us to drain the balconies at deck level, and a full AliRail system to provide balustrade support colour-matched to the balcony decking to provide a holistic and complementary aesthetic.

In total, AliDeck will be supplying material to support 65 new balconies. 804 new homes will be built in the first phase of the development. The new residential tower will stand 32 storeys high with the ground floor hosting flexible commercial space along with the multiple apartment types available.

Homes England, Legal & General, and Morgan Sindall’s property development arm Muse are collaborating to develop the £107.25m Manor Road Quarter scheme. With Alloy Fabweld specialising in the design, manufacture, and installation of high quality bespoke metalwork projects for the Commercial and Residential markets.
