How AliDeck helped Lands UK deliver a safer roof terrace on time

In a recent project with Lands UK Property Maintenance, we were approached to supply a full aluminium decking solution for a roof terrace remediation scheme. What looked straightforward on paper quickly evolved into a fast-paced, high-pressure challenge — with tight deadlines, restricted access, and training requirements all in play.

Time-sensitive remediation with no room for error

The client needed to replace the old, fire-risk materials with a new Class A-rated system as part of a fire safety upgrade. However, timelines were extremely limited, with residents and stakeholders needing the space reopened quickly.

Thanks to our in-house production capabilities and three-to-four-week lead times, we were able to supply a compliant, Made in Britain system without delay. Everything from the decking to the joist support system was delivered on time, helping the client avoid costly delays and maintain their schedule.

Our sales manager worked closely with the project manager at Lands UK to ensure all elements were manufactured precisely and finished to the required specification. As a result, there were no compromises on either safety or aesthetics.

Solving the delivery challenge: Site constraints and transport planning

The location of the roof terrace created additional pressure. Access was limited, and transporting long decking lengths to the rooftop was not feasible. To overcome this, we collaborated with the contractor to pre-cut decking materials to site-specific sizes at our facility in Kent. This allowed for smoother logistics, easier handling, and a reduced risk of damage during transit.

This kind of agility is a cornerstone of our approach. By adjusting our supply to fit real-world constraints, we help ensure every project remains viable — no matter how challenging.

Installation support: From design to delivery

Lands UK also required hands-on support during the installation process. Our technical team provided remote and on-site installation training to ensure the decking, joists, and fixings were installed correctly.

Explaining the system layout and load performance
Supporting the decking using the joist system supplied
Answering design queries as the install progressed
