Transforming Edward De Vere Court with AliDeck’s Aluminium Systems
The AliDeck XL Decking Board was selected for its superior strength, capable of spanning up to 1,800mm, and its fire-rated design, making it an ideal choice for balcony remediation. The Sepia Brown finish adds a contemporary touch that complements the building’s exterior, while the board’s 60-year lifespan ensures long-lasting durability with minimal maintenance.
In addition to the decking, AliClad Flow was used both for the balcony soffits and as an innovative balustrade and privacy screen solution. This dual-purpose application enhanced the balconies’ aesthetic appeal and contributed to cost and time savings during installation. Fully compliant with BS 8579:2020, the system also includes drainage solutions where required, further improving safety and performance.
The old decking was replaced with AliDeck’s advanced, non-combustible aluminium system, meeting the highest fire safety standards (A2-s1, d0 and A2fl-s1 ratings). This not only ensures full compliance with modern fire regulations but also provides increased safety for residents, significantly reducing the fire risk on the balconies
To further enhance durability, the balconies were finished with a Qualicoat Seaside Class 2 Powder Coating, offering exceptional resistance to weathering and ensuring the longevity of the aluminium components in urban environments.
